Against Control is a selection of essays exploring the influences of William Burroughs and the wider Burroughs universe by enfant 'subversive' terrible, Jack Sergeant.
Jack Sergeant's Against Control is an excellent introduction for people new to Burroughs' work and a thoroughly enjoyable ride for folks familiar with Burroughs literary experimentations, aural and visual fascinations and of course his dry wit. Brilliantly written and also a great resource for referencing the work of Burroughs' contemporaries and their influences upon on him - in particular, Brion Gysin and Ian Sommerville's Dreammachine.
