New 4K restoration of Orson Welles' first colour film and final completed fictional feature. Starring an ethereal Jeanne Moreau, this jewel-like film, dreamily shot by Willy Kurant (who has worked with Godard, Pink Floyd, Murice Pialat), and suffused with the music of Erik Satie, is a brooding, evocative distillation of Welles' artistic preoccupations - a story about the nature of storytelling and the fine line between illusion and reality, with the specter of death looming over it all. Extras include alternate French version of the film, audio commentary, interviews and a 1968 documentary on Orson Welles directed by Francois Reichenbach and Ferderic Rossif.
