When the popular TV series Space:1999 was introduced to the Italian audience as a feature film in the cinemas, Italian maestro Ennio Morricone was enlisted to compose new music for the theatrical release which has a totally different trajectory to the brassy score for the original TV series by Barry Grey. Morricone utilised both acoustic and electronic instruments to give a completely different vibe to the out-of-space adventures of Commander Koenig (the magnificent Martin Landau) and his Moonbase Alpha crew.
