This is an autobiographical topography of female neurosis in horror and exploitation films, from A-list Hollywood director Robert Altman all the way down to extreme bloodlusting Polish filmmaker Andrzej Zulawski. This sharply-designed book with a 32-page full-colour section is packed with rare stills, colour posters that combine with artwork, photos and artifacts to form a titillating sensory overload, with a filmography that traverses the acclaimed and the obscure in equal measure.
Author Kier-La Janisse is a writer and film programmer from Canada now based in Tasmania, Australia. Kier-La Janisse was also the subject of the documentary film "Celluloid Horror" (2005).
