Begun in 1978 as a senior project by Howard Brookner, who was then a student at NYU, Burroughs: The Movie is the only feature-length documentary to be made with and about William S. Burroughs. Following the writer as he chats with friends in his basement apartment in New York, walks the streets of his St. Louis youth, gives public readings and makes an appearance on Saturday Night Live, and talks on a roof with Allen Ginsberg, Burroughs: The Movie brings you as close as possible to the junky poet and American sage.
