Recorded in February and March 2003, 'Blemish' has been hailed as a masterpiece by critics across the world. Working primarily alone, David Sylvian created an impromptu suite of songs for guitar, electronics and voice. The compositions were crafted from improvisational sessions by Sylvian and also by acclaimed guitarist Derek Bailey (on 3 tracks) which were captured live in the studio, resulting in an emotionally raw, minimal work, of immediacy and stark beauty. ‘Blemish’ was David Sylvian’s first solo album to be released on his own Samadhisound label following his departure from Virgin Records in 2003. This is the first official release on 180gram vinyl. Working primarily as a solo artist, Sylvian created an impromptu suite of songs for guitar, electronics and voice. “A Fire In A Forest” features the haunting electronic arrangements by Austrian guitarist / producer Christian Fennesz.. It is the debut release for his own SamadhiSound label. Sylvian set aside a month to write and record the album while taking a break from the project that he and his brother, Steve Jansen, are currently working on. He has created an impromptu suite of songs for guitar, electronics and voice.
